Manufacturer Warranty + Workmanship Warranty

Every siding installation we complete in Euclid, OH carries two distinct warranties. The first is the manufacturer’s warranty on the siding material itself — this covers defects in the product and is provided by James Hardie, Mastic, CertainTeed, Alside, or whichever manufacturer’s product we install. The second is our own workmanship warranty covering installation defects — this is what protects you if a panel comes loose, a flashing detail fails, or an installation error causes a problem.

Manufacturer warranties typically last 30 years or more. Our workmanship warranty runs 5 years on vinyl installations and 10 years on fiber cement, cedar, metal, and stucco installations. We register the manufacturer warranty on your behalf at project completion and hand over all documentation including product specifications, warranty paperwork, and care instructions.

Siding Pro Workmanship Warranty

Our workmanship warranty covers defects in our installation that cause the siding system to fail prematurely. This includes panels that come loose due to improper fastening, flashing failures that allow water intrusion at installation seams, expansion gap errors that cause buckling, and trim or J-channel misalignment that compromises weatherproofing. The warranty length depends on the material installed:

  • Vinyl siding installations: 5 year workmanship warranty
  • Fiber cement (James Hardie) installations: 10 year workmanship warranty
  • Cedar shake and wood siding: 10 year workmanship warranty
  • Metal siding installations: 10 year workmanship warranty
  • Stucco installations: 10 year workmanship warranty
  • Soffit and fascia installations: 5 year workmanship warranty

If you experience a workmanship issue covered by our warranty, we will return to your Euclid home, assess the problem, and repair it at no charge. The workmanship warranty is transferable to a new owner if you sell your home — simply contact us with the new owner’s information and we will update our records.

What Warranties Do Not Cover

Both manufacturer and workmanship warranties have exclusions. Understanding what is not covered helps you protect your investment:

  • Damage from severe weather events (named storms, hurricanes, tornadoes) — typically covered by homeowner’s insurance instead
  • Damage from impact (vehicle collisions, fallen trees, lawn equipment) — typically covered by homeowner’s insurance
  • Damage from improper maintenance (pressure washing above recommended PSI, failure to re-seal cedar, etc.)
  • Damage from structural movement or foundation settlement
  • Damage from modifications or repairs made by other contractors
  • Fading or color change from UV exposure beyond manufacturer’s published limits
  • Damage from improper attic ventilation causing moisture behind siding

How to File a Warranty Claim

If you believe your siding has a defect covered by either the manufacturer warranty or our workmanship warranty, contact us at +1 (704) 471-3135 or info@sidingpro-euclid.com. We will:

  1. Schedule an inspection — typically within 5 business days of your contact.
  2. Document the issue with photographs and written assessment.
  3. Determine coverage — whether the issue is a material defect (manufacturer warranty), an installation defect (our workmanship warranty), or non-covered damage (typically insurance).
  4. Coordinate with the manufacturer if a material defect claim is warranted — we handle the paperwork on your behalf.
  5. Complete the repair once coverage is confirmed and replacement material is sourced.

Keep your project documentation (provided at completion) in a safe place. You will need the manufacturer product information, the installation date, and our workmanship warranty paperwork to file a claim.
